at home i'm barely connected. my cousin was in one of the other world trade center buildings (i forget which...) he watched it happen from 100 yds away. he watched people that were literally ON FIRE desperately JUMP from 50, 60, 70 stories up. i would never mock him for the far-away look he sometimes gets when people talk about that day. i would never tell him that it's time to forget.
my hope is that this next generation will learn about and appreciate these events. my hope is that as i lost my breath at pearl harbor a few years ago people 50 years from now will have their knees turn to jelly when the visit ground zero.
thousands of people died 10 years ago today. why doesn't that matter?
